BC- AC Body Clock Atomic Clock
A series of still life and abstract compositions that render a metaphysical view on time, light and space.
The paintings question the interface between our biological selves and the digital construct of the caesium
clock.
The global atomic clock network is comprehensively and digitally integrated into our lives; with an ever-
increasing  hyper accuracy synchronising all aspects of contemporary life.
The backdrop of peg board signifies a matrix of precise increments. They distort and falling away becoming
a random array of chaotic blips via the lens of the glass. The horizontal glass timer creates its own space in the
rigid framework of dots, imposing an organic shape as a signifier of the infinite.
In essence - we are time?

I've used the pop novelty of a Mathmos light (lava Lamp) and classical glass sand timer to effect.
Bright wax globules ascend within clear glass, psychedelic in colour and form.
These floating blobs inside the glass timer become a metaphor for ‘time suspended’ and are my
take on the idea of The Fountain of Youth.
